My research

Engaging with history helps us to continually question and re-examine the ‘certainties’ that we might take for granted today. I find anything that is very close to people’s lives particularly fascinating. For example, how (gender) relationships have changed. Or how something seemingly unchanging, such as the human body and physical perception, undergoes transformation. This ‘questioning of certainties’ is hugely important in any era – including our own.
