My research

I carry out research, teaching and consultancy work in the fields of the environment and energy, with forays into colonial history and the theory of democracy. I make my work accessible to a wide audience through books, studies, expert reports and lectures. In this sense, I see myself as an interpreter of historical topics: complex content and academic knowledge are made tangible and provide input for current debates.
