My research
My research focuses on the interaction between humans, the environment and the climate from a historical perspective, from the Middle Ages to the present day. How have humans adapted to extreme natural events or to prevailing weather conditions? How have societies adapted their natural living environment to their needs, and to what extent have they themselves had to adapt? How did they manage the resources available to them? How have landscapes such as the Alpine region been transformed by tourism?
