My research

I study the motivational, emotional and social development of adults – from young adulthood through to old age. My research focuses on the investigation of so-called development-regulatory processes – that is, how people actively steer their own development (within the contextual frameworks available to them). What role do goals and values play in lifelong development? Which goals are prioritised, put on hold or abandoned – and when and why?
