My research
I studied archaeology and medieval history and have been working in this field for many years; since 2009, I have served as the cantonal archaeologist for Baselland. My area of specialisation is the decline of the Roman Empire and the development of the medieval economy and society. As there are very few written sources for this period in the region, archaeology plays a vital role in our understanding.
