My research
My research focuses on searching multimedia content (images, videos, audio, text). Compared to traditional database searches, one of the major challenges in multimedia search is the unstructured nature of the data, as well as the discrepancy between the digital representation of the data (e.g. colour values of pixels) and a human’s semantic interpretation (e.g. an image of a rabbit in a meadow).
