My research

My research focuses on how children grow up within families, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds. I am interested in what children think and experience, but also in how parents cope with the challenges of caregiving under specific social conditions. Furthermore, I examine how social norms come about and how society deals with deviation, how social prejudices arise and how these become embedded in an individual’s personal history.
