My research

My research focuses on the (cultural) history of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, with a particular emphasis on the Mediterranean region from the 10th to the 16th century. I am also interested in the history of material culture, its (global) interconnections and relationships beyond established historiographical narratives and concepts. Furthermore, I explore how a constructive dialogue between the humanities and digital transformation can be fostered and established.
