My research

My research lies at the intersection of experimental pragmatics and argumentation theory. I investigate how certain linguistic elements, such as the use of causal connectives or changes in the information structure, influence our perception of (non-) fallacious arguments and of the speaker conveying it. This helps us to understand how language and the cognitive mechanisms associated with it can contribute to the persuasiveness of an argument.
