My research
My research explores the interactions between art, ideas and society in Europe between the 15th and 18th centuries. I focus primarily on Northern Europe (France, the Netherlands, England). I am particularly interested in the relationship between theory and artistic practice, both in general and as reflected in the work of famous artists (Rembrandt, Johannes Vermeer, Joshua Reynolds).
