My research
For more than ten years, I have been exploring the question of what happens to women, gender and sexuality during and after war and revolutions. How do people become rebels? And what happens to former combatants? As part of an SNSF Ambizione project, I am working with former Kurdish rebels who are building new lives for themselves in the Middle East and Europe, and I am researching processes of de/militarisation, de/criminalisation and im/mobility.
