My research

I am investigating how biogeochemical processes in the critical zone – from the tree canopy down to the groundwater – are linked to surface ecosystems and the global carbon cycle. I am fascinated by how environmental changes, such as climate change and land-use change, influence these processes. To this end, I develop innovative monitoring systems and use geochemical analyses.
