My research
Statistics: neither magic nor ‘fudging the figures’. As a biostatistician, I help medical professionals with their clinical research. -> What exactly is the research question? What do I need to measure, and when, and how many patients or study participants do I need to answer it? How do I analyse incomplete data and lost-to-follow-up study participants? How do I present my results graphically? Why can’t I prove a hypothesis, and why has ‘statistical significance’ had its day?
