My research
I am interested in how people understand concepts that they never perceive (e.g. atoms or the atmosphere). I take the view that we are ‘embodied’ beings, i.e. we learn through interaction with the world. New knowledge always builds on what we already know. That is why our understanding of invisible concepts must also be linked to our lived experiences. But how exactly? And how can this be taken into account in (inclusive!) teaching?
