My research
I am particularly interested in (ancient) literate cultures and the implications of reading and writing for social and cultural history. As a trained historian and epigraphist, my research experience focuses primarily on the analysis of inscriptions of various kinds on different materials and media (wooden writing tablets, wine barrels, everyday objects, etc.).
