My research

By training, I am a German studies scholar. My areas of specialisation are literary geography (how settings function in fictional worlds) and everything that can be described as ‘rural literature’, such as village and farming novels from the 19th to the 21st century. I deliberately write in an accessible style and sometimes also in a semi-fictional manner. In practice, this is complemented by reading promotion projects for children, teenagers and young adults.
